A&O Shearman has added Anna Kertesz as a partner in its U.S. Antitrust practice in Washington, D.C., continuing the firm’s expansion of its antitrust and M&A capabilities.
Kertesz brings more than 20 years of antitrust experience covering merger clearance, antitrust and consumer protection counseling, and civil and criminal antitrust litigation and investigations.
Her background includes several years at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, where she investigated M&A transactions while working with the agency’s Mergers 1, focused on pharmaceuticals, and Mergers 3, focused on oil and gas, units.
Her combination of government and private-practice experience includes work across industries such as life sciences, technology, oil and gas, retail and consumer products, and industrial equipment.
Kertesz joins A&O Shearman from White & Case.
Her arrival represents the second lateral Antitrust partner addition A&O Shearman has made in the U.S. during 2026 and follows the recent appointment of Kathryn Mims as an Antitrust partner in Washington, D.C.
The expansion comes alongside a broader series of lateral hires across A&O Shearman’s U.S. operations.
Recent additions have included partners working across M&A, restructuring, digital and technology, energy and infrastructure, capital markets, fund finance, international trade and CFIUS, with new hires based in markets including New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Boston, Houston, Dallas, Chicago and Washington, D.C.
