Aon has appointed Joe Peiser as CEO of Risk Capital, expanding his leadership responsibilities across the firm’s Commercial Risk and Reinsurance Solutions businesses.
In the new role, Peiser will lead Aon’s Risk Capital capabilities, with a mandate to strengthen the firm’s ability to connect risk with the most efficient forms of capital. He will continue to report to Andy Marcell, CEO of Global Solutions at Aon. The company confirmed that a search is underway for a new CEO of Commercial Risk.
The appointment aligns with Aon’s broader strategy to help clients navigate increasing volatility by integrating market access, analytics, and advisory capabilities across its Risk Capital platform. The firm said the enhanced leadership structure is designed to accelerate the delivery of solutions that leverage its global reach and analytics-driven insights.
Aon’s Risk Capital strategy focuses on helping clients access optimal capital sources through distribution across insurance, reinsurance, captives, parametric solutions, insurance-linked securities, and alternative capital markets. The strategy also emphasizes advanced analytics and modeling to quantify risk and optimize total cost of risk; expanded advisory services for structuring and capital management; and innovation in new risk-transfer instruments, digital trading, and market-making capabilities.
Peiser brings more than 30 years of industry experience spanning broking leadership, risk consulting, client advisory, and executive roles across North America, the UK, and Bermuda. He has led large-scale transformation programs, including modernizing broking platforms and expanding analytics-enabled solutions.
He joined Aon in 2021 as Commercial Risk Leader for North America and was appointed Global CEO of Commercial Risk in 2023. In his new position, Peiser will work closely with solution line and regional leaders, as well as Aon Business Services, to accelerate the delivery of end-to-end solutions that create a more connected, analytics-enabled capital ecosystem for clients operating in over 120 countries.
