Aon has launched Sidecar X with up to $200 million of capacity as the professional services firm expands its platform connecting insurance capital with increasingly large and complex M&A and tax risks. Sidecar X is the latest evolution of Aon’s Global Sidecar Platform.
The platform covers representations and warranties insurance and tax insurance and is available exclusively to Aon clients.
Aon said participants can receive a 10% premium discount through the platform.
Sidecar X uses pre-agreed underwriting and claims frameworks designed to streamline transactions while giving clients access to dedicated insurance capacity.
The product is being introduced as M&A transactions become larger and more complex while insurers and capital providers become increasingly selective about the risks they are willing to assume.
Aon developed Sidecar X to combine insurance capital with its proprietary analytics and global broking capabilities.
For insurers and reinsurers, the platform is intended to provide a more structured way to evaluate diversified transaction risks and deploy capital at scale.
For corporate and private equity clients, the model is designed to improve certainty around available capacity, underwriting and claims handling.
Sidecar X is available across the U.S., Canada, U.K., European Economic Area and Asia.
Aon serves clients in more than 120 countries.
