Funds advised by Apax Partners have agreed to acquire Warburg Pincus’ shareholding in Odido Netherlands Holding, giving Apax continued long-term ownership of the Dutch telecommunications company.
Apax and Warburg Pincus have been shareholders in Odido since 2022, when they acquired the business from Deutsche Telekom and Tele2. Since then, Odido has separated from its former owners, completed a rebrand, modernized its mobile network and expanded access to what the company describes as the largest fiber footprint in the Netherlands.
Following completion, Apax plans to continue supporting investment in Odido’s network, customer experience, security and digital inclusion initiatives. The firm said growing demand for data, digital services and AI is increasing the importance of connectivity infrastructure for Dutch households and businesses.
Odido’s strategy remains focused on becoming what it calls the customer champion of the Netherlands by making technology more accessible and relevant to everyday life. The transaction is expected to provide continuity for the company’s management team, employees and customers.
The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals and consultation with employee representatives.
