Apella Wealth has acquired San Rafael, California-based Longview Financial Advisors, adding approximately $384 million in assets under management and expanding the registered investment advisor’s presence in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Longview is led by founder Tim Harrington, CFP®, and serves professionals, families and retirees through a planning-focused wealth management model built around independent advice and long-term client relationships. Harrington and the Longview team will join Apella as part of the transaction.
The deal closed on September 15, 2026. Following the acquisition, Apella has approximately $12 billion in assets under management.
The transaction marks Apella’s 29th acquisition overall and its 18th since Wealth Partners Capital Group invested in the firm in September 2021.
The acquisition strengthens Apella’s West Coast footprint while adding a Bay Area advisory business whose investment philosophy and financial planning model are closely aligned with Apella’s own approach.
Apella was founded in 2014 and has built a national RIA around evidence-based investing and detailed financial planning. The firm serves individual and institutional investors through offices across both coasts.
Longview’s client model emphasizes holistic advice built around each household’s broader financial picture rather than investment management alone.
That approach helped make the firm a strategic fit for Apella as it continues expanding through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth.
The transaction also gives Longview access to a larger operating platform, broader expertise and additional resources while maintaining its existing client relationships and fiduciary approach.
For Apella, the acquisition continues a broader consolidation strategy across the independent wealth management market.
Wealth Partners Capital Group supports Apella’s expansion by providing capital, M&A expertise and assistance identifying and evaluating advisory firms for potential acquisition.
Longview’s location in San Rafael adds further scale in Northern California, an important wealth management market with a large concentration of affluent households, business owners and professionals.
The deal follows other West Coast expansion by Apella, which has continued building a national advisory platform while retaining local advisor relationships.
Jessica Polito of Turkey Hill Management represented Longview in the transaction.
