Apera AI: Series A Raised For 4D Vision For Industrial Robotic Automation

By Amit Chowdhry • Jul 30, 2025

Apera AI, a leader in 4D Vision for industrial robotics, has announced a successful, oversubscribed Series A round, which includes a new investment from BDC Capital and increased participation from existing investors.

Amid rising demand for robotic automation in manufacturing, Apera AI is seeing nearly 3X YoY revenue growth and has a customer base including all six major North American automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and over 100 industrial manufacturers.

Apera AI expands its leadership with four new executives: Peter Brouwer as Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Genèse Castonguay as Vice President of Marketing, Joseph Lee, CA as Chief Financial Officer, and Robert St-Jacques as Vice President of People. They bring experience in scaling high-growth tech companies in AI, automation, and enterprise software.

Apera AI’s patented 4D Vision platform combines 3D vision with AI—the “fourth dimension”—to give industrial robots human-like vision and advanced AI. This allows high-speed, precise tasks such as bin picking, de-racking, and complex assembly. Unlike traditional systems, 4D Vision adapts to shifting bins, varying lighting, worn grippers, and complex parts, enhancing robot speed, accuracy, and reliability in demanding industrial environments.

Apera AI’s ongoing innovation focuses on making advanced automation accessible. Recent releases include no-code setup tools, AI-powered calibration, and real-time diagnostics—all designed to minimize deployment time and maximize operational reliability.

How the funding will be used: The funding will boost growth, enabling more investment in talent, processes, and product innovation in 4D Vision technology for AI-powered robotics.
