Apple’s AppleCare One offers customers a way to protect multiple Apple devices under a single monthly plan, with the Individual plan starting at $19.99 per month for up to three eligible products and the newer Family plan costing $49.99 per month for eligible devices across a Family Sharing group.
AppleCare One builds on AppleCare+ by combining coverage for multiple products rather than requiring customers to maintain separate protection plans for each device.
The Individual plan covers up to three eligible Apple products for $19.99 per month. Customers can add additional products for $5.99 per month each.
AppleCare One Family expands that model significantly. For $49.99 per month, customers can cover eligible products belonging to as many as six people in an Apple Family Sharing group, including the plan holder.
Current eligible devices are automatically covered without additional per-device fees, and newly purchased eligible Apple products can also be automatically added to the Family plan.
Apple introduced AppleCare One Individual in July 2025 and expanded the offering in September 2026 with AppleCare One Family in the United States.
Both AppleCare One plans include the core benefits associated with AppleCare+.
Customers receive unlimited repairs for accidental damage such as drops and spills, battery replacement when an eligible device’s battery capacity falls below the applicable threshold, Apple-certified repairs and 24/7 priority support from Apple experts.
AppleCare One also includes theft and loss protection for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
The Individual plan provides up to three total theft and loss claims per year across covered devices, while the Family plan allows up to six total claims per year. Service fees and deductibles apply.
One of AppleCare One’s more significant differences from traditional AppleCare+ enrollment is its flexibility around older devices.
Customers can add many products they already own rather than limiting coverage to recently purchased devices.
Apple says most eligible products can be added if they are less than four years old and remain in good working condition. Headphones generally need to be less than one year old. Apple may require a diagnostic check before an older device can be added.
That makes AppleCare One potentially useful for customers who already own several Apple products but did not purchase AppleCare+ when those devices were originally bought.
Apple also designed the Individual plan to make device management more flexible.
When customers trade in a covered product directly to Apple, that product can be removed from the plan and replaced by the new device. Customers can also move eligible products in and out of their coverage over time.
The economics can become more attractive for customers with several higher-value Apple products.
When Apple originally introduced AppleCare One Individual, the company said a customer covering an iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch could save as much as $11 per month compared with maintaining separate AppleCare+ plans for all three products.
The $49.99-per-month Family plan changes the calculation further for households with numerous Apple devices because there is no separate monthly charge for every eligible product within the participating Family Sharing group.
Apple says the Family plan can cover eligible devices for up to six people, with new eligible purchases automatically added while the monthly price remains the same.
AppleCare One also maintains access to Apple’s repair network.
Customers can obtain service through Apple Stores and more than 5,000 Apple Authorized Service Providers worldwide, depending on the device and repair.
For iPhone, Apple’s current service structure includes a $29 service fee for eligible screen or back-glass damage, $99 for other accidental damage and $149 for eligible theft or loss claims. Battery replacement is available without an additional service fee when battery capacity falls below 80% of its original capacity.
The broader strategy gives Apple another recurring subscription offering while simplifying device protection for customers increasingly using several Apple products simultaneously.
Instead of managing separate plans for an iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods and other products, customers can consolidate eligible hardware under AppleCare One Individual or, for larger households, AppleCare One Family.
