Apprentice.io announced it has acquired Ganymede, an AI-powered cloud platform designed to capture, standardize, and automate lab and process data, in a move aimed at connecting laboratory operations with manufacturing execution inside a single system.
The company said the deal expands its platform beyond manufacturing environments and into wet-lab settings, creating what it described as a continuous “digital thread” that links instrument-level data, process execution, and manufacturing intelligence in real time. Apprentice.io positioned the acquisition as a way to reduce data silos that can slow development and scaling, particularly during tech transfer from R&D into commercial production.
Apprentice.io said Ganymede’s capabilities will strengthen its manufacturing intelligence offering through advanced analytics, real-time process insights, and deeper equipment and instrument integrations. The combined platform is intended to support teams analyzing, optimizing, and automating processes across both laboratory and manufacturing workflows with consistent, contextualized data.
A key addition will be Ganymede’s “Lab-as-Code” technology, which Apprentice.io said will become a core component of its platform. The approach is designed to let scientists, engineers, and IT leaders define integrations and analytical workflows directly in software and connect them to lab instruments and scientific applications. Apprentice.io added that Ganymede’s products for R&D and diagnostics data will continue to be offered.
Ganymede, founded in 2022, was built for wet-lab life sciences and manufacturing environments. Apprentice.io said the Ganymede team will join the organization, bringing expertise in data infrastructure, life sciences, and machine learning.
