Aprio announced it has entered the Pacific Northwest through combinations with two Oregon-based accounting and advisory firms, Delap LLP and Hoffman, Stewart & Schmidt, P.C., expanding its presence in the greater Portland area and strengthening its regional audit, tax, and advisory capabilities.
The firm said the combinations, which closed on January 1, 2026, create a leading Pacific Northwest platform designed to serve entrepreneurs and businesses facing rapid growth, regulatory complexity, and technology-driven change. Aprio said the expansion bolsters its ability to provide services including public company audits, advanced tax planning, digital forensics and cybersecurity, and broader advisory offerings.
Delap, founded in 1933 and headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon, is a full-service accounting and advisory firm with 117 professionals and 14 partners. Aprio said Delap adds managed IT services, including cybersecurity and digital forensics, and brings a financial institution-focused PCAOB-registered public company audit practice. Delap CEO Earl Pierce, COO Ryan Boatsman, and the full partner group will join Aprio as partners.
Hoffman, Stewart & Schmidt, a Portland-based CPA firm founded in 1979, has more than 70 professionals and 10 partners. Aprio said HSS provides tax, audit, and advisory services with experience in construction, not-for-profit organizations, and closely held businesses. The firm was named an Inside Public Accounting “Best of the Best” CPA firm for 2025, according to Aprio. HSS managing partner Leah DiGregorio and the full partner group will also join Aprio as partners.
Aprio said the move follows recent expansions in Kansas and five other new markets as it targets regions experiencing transformation and technological change. The firm said its national footprint now spans major hubs coast-to-coast.
