Arcana has appointed former Goldman Sachs executive Rhys Williams as Head of EMEA, adding an experienced institutional markets leader as the portfolio intelligence company expands with hedge funds and asset managers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Williams brings nearly two decades of experience working with investment firms and financial institutions across institutional client coverage, technology and growth strategy.
Most recently, he served as Global Head of Marquee Strategic Client Coverage and EMEA Sales at Goldman Sachs.
In that role, Williams built the global relationship management operation for Marquee, Goldman’s digital platform for institutional customers, while leading commercial expansion across EMEA.
His experience has involved working with hedge funds, asset managers and other institutional investors across functions including portfolio management, risk, trading, data and technology.
At Arcana, Williams will lead the company’s EMEA operations.
His responsibilities include expanding the customer base, building relationships with institutional investors and growing Arcana’s regional team.
Arcana provides a portfolio intelligence platform combining portfolio construction, performance attribution, risk management, research, alpha capture and AI-powered workflows.
The company said more than 300 institutions overseeing over $20 trillion in assets use its technology.
Williams’ appointment gives Arcana a senior executive with relationships across many of the same institutional investment organizations the company is targeting as it expands internationally.
