Archetype AI has raised $35 million in Series A funding to scale its Physical AI platform and accelerate the deployment of Physical Agents designed to interpret and act on real-world sensor data. The investment was led by IAG Capital Partners and Hitachi Ventures, with participation from Bezos Expeditions, Venrock, Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund, Samsung Ventures, Systemiq Capital, E12 Ventures, Higher Life Ventures, and additional new and existing backers.

The company is also unveiling expanded tools that allow enterprises to build and deploy Physical Agents capable of sensing, understanding, and operating in real environments.

The rise of digital AI agents has transformed online workflows, but translating those capabilities into the physical world has remained constrained by fragmented systems, engineering complexity, and expensive custom machine learning solutions that typically solve only narrow use cases. Archetype AI aims to change this dynamic by enabling businesses to convert raw sensor data into real-world intelligence within minutes. Its platform uses natural language prompts and APIs, allowing seamless integration with existing enterprise systems.

At the core of the technology is Newton, a Physical AI foundation model that fuses multimodal sensor streams, video, and contextual information to produce insights, recommendations, and autonomous actions. Archetype’s platform also includes the Agent Toolkit, which supports rapid assembly, testing, and deployment of Physical Agents. These agents can operate across environments, including private clouds, on-premises infrastructure, and the edge, providing enterprises with control over data and security.

The Agent Toolkit enables the creation of custom Physical Agents to solve a wide range of use cases. Archetype also provides a set of ready-made agents. The Process Monitoring Agent tracks machine operations, identifies anomalies, and detects machine states. The Task Verification Agent checks worker compliance with required procedures across services and training workflows. The Safety Agent monitors environments for hazards and unsafe behaviors, which are defined in natural language. Each of these agents can be deployed and adapted to meet individual operational requirements.

Early enterprise users such as NTT DATA, Kajima, and the City of Bellevue have already implemented Physical Agents across warehouses, construction sites, and municipal operations. These deployments have improved efficiency, reduced downtime, and achieved stronger safety outcomes in dynamic real-world settings.

With this new capital, Archetype AI plans to scale its platform, broaden the capabilities of its Physical Agents, and invest in next-generation research to enhance Newton’s capacity for physical reasoning and action. The company is also releasing new research demonstrating Newton’s state-of-the-art performance in physical signal-language fusion, enabling the generation of continuous time-series signals from natural language descriptions. This advancement represents a significant step in moving AI from passive understanding to active manipulation of the physical world.

The Archetype AI Platform and Physical Agent Toolkit are available in beta to select customers, with expanded functionality expected to roll out in the coming months. The company, founded by former Google leaders, works with global enterprises across sectors, including automotive, consumer electronics, logistics, and retail, to deliver real-time, sensor-driven intelligence.

KEY QUOTES

“Archetype AI is refining and defining the full stack of Physical AI, creating scalable solutions that operate in the real world, not just on screens or in simulations. This team is building a category-defining company that will transform how humans and agents interact with everything from edge devices to critical infrastructure, generating lasting value at scale.”

Dennis Sacha, Founding Partner at IAG Capital Partners

“Physical Agents allow businesses to move from intent to action with speed and efficiency that were not previously possible. Newton provides general physical intelligence, while the Archetype platform and Agent Toolkit make it simple to build and deploy customer-specific solutions that solve their critical problems by using specific knowledge about their physical operations — here and now.”

Ivan Poupyrev, Co-founder and CEO of Archetype AI

“Archetype AI’s Physical Agents improve operations and safety across real-world assets. From reducing machine downtime in factories to monitoring construction sites in real time, their platform delivers tangible results enterprises can put into action immediately.”
