Architect Financial Technologies announced it has raised $35 million in a strategic Series A round to accelerate the growth of AX, which it describes as the financial industry’s first centralized exchange for perpetual futures tied to traditional asset classes.
The company said AX launched last month and is operated by its Bermuda-based affiliate, Architect Bermuda Ltd. The exchange offers institutional clients perpetual contracts across foreign currencies, interest rates, single stocks, stock indexes, metals, and other commodities. And it operates under the oversight of the Bermuda Monetary Authority’s regulatory framework.
The round was anchored by Miami International Holdings and Tioga Capital, with participation from firms including Galaxy Ventures, ARK Invest, VanEck, Trumid, and Geneva Trading, among others. The company added that earlier backers Coinbase Ventures, Strobe Ventures, CMT Digital, and Third Kind Venture Capital provided additional support, and that Broadhaven advised on the transaction.
The company previously raised a $5 million pre-seed round in 2023 and a $12 million seed round in 2024. AX is currently available to institutions in eligible jurisdictions, including hedge funds, market makers, family offices, asset managers, insurance and reinsurance companies, and lenders, the company said, adding that sophisticated individual traders can join a waitlist.
Architect operates across multiple regulated entities, including Architect Securities LLC, a FINRA-registered introducing broker-dealer, and Architect Financial Derivatives LLC, an NFA-registered independent introducing broker, while Architect Bermuda Ltd. is regulated by the Bermuda Monetary Authority and operates AX, the company said.
