Archy Raises $50 Million Series C To Expand AI Platform For Dental Practices

Archy, an AI platform for dental practice management, announced that it has raised $50 million in Series C funding led by JMI Equity, with participation from existing investors TCV, Entrée Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, CRV, and Alven.

The new round brings Archy’s total funding to $97 million and will be used to accelerate the development of AI agents designed to automate administrative and operational work across dental practices.

Founded in 2021 by Jonathan Rat and Benjamin Kolin, Archy has built an all-in-one cloud platform that combines traditional dental practice management functionality with AI agents.

The company said its platform is now used by more than 1,000 dental practices, supports millions of patients, and processes more than $300 million in payments annually.

Archy operates across 45 states and has grown to approximately 130 employees, including executives with experience at companies such as Toast, SurveyMonkey, Shopmonkey, and Uber.

Rather than adding standalone AI products on top of older practice management software, Archy has embedded AI directly into its core platform. The company describes this approach as creating a “system of action” that can both manage practice information and carry out operational tasks on behalf of dental teams.

The platform combines AI capabilities with essential dental practice functions such as scheduling, charting, imaging, patient communications, insurance workflows, payments, staffing, and reporting.

Archy is positioning the technology as a way for dental practices to address administrative complexity and staffing shortages while allowing dentists and their teams to spend more time on patient care.

The company has developed several specialized AI agents across common dental practice workflows.

Archy Revenue is designed to file insurance claims, collect insurance payments, and follow up on outstanding collections.

Archy Scribe automatically converts completed appointments into SOAP notes, reducing the need for dentists and staff to manually document patient visits.

Archy Verify checks insurance coverage and patient eligibility, while Archy Connect handles patient communications and scheduling.

Another product, Archy Insight, analyzes practice data to provide answers and identify potential growth opportunities.

The company said these AI agents are intended to operate inside the same system that manages a practice’s core information, allowing automation to occur directly within existing workflows rather than through separate software products.

Archy was originally inspired by Rat’s experience helping his wife, a dentist, manage the technology used by her practice. The founders saw an opportunity to replace fragmented and aging dental software systems with a cloud-based platform designed around modern practice operations.

The company believes dental practices have historically relied on a mixture of on-premises software and disconnected point solutions, creating operational friction for dentists and their employees.

By consolidating those functions into one system and adding AI agents capable of performing repetitive tasks, Archy aims to reduce the amount of manual administrative work required to run a dental practice.

The Series C financing will primarily support continued product development, particularly the expansion of the company’s AI agents and automation capabilities.

JMI Equity said the investment reflects its view that Archy can modernize an industry that has traditionally depended on older software architectures and multiple disconnected technology products.

The company’s growing scale, including more than $300 million in annual payment processing volume and over 1,000 dental practices on the platform, gives Archy a larger base from which to deploy additional AI functionality as it continues expanding.

KEY QUOTES:

“Dentists are quickly realizing that slapping a shiny new AI tool onto 20-year-old software running on a server in the closet doesn’t fix their core operational bottlenecks. We built Archy to be a true system of action from the foundation up. By embedding AI agents natively into our platform, we aren’t just giving practices a modern place to store data, we’re giving them intelligent teammates that actively handle the busywork.”

Jonathan Rat, Co-Founder and CEO of Archy

“Archy is the tool I use more than a dental handpiece, and it has had a bigger impact on the efficiency of my practice than anything else I’ve adopted. Between Archy Revenue, Scribe, and the way they’re integrating AI throughout the platform, my single doctor, four operatory practice can run with the efficiency of a much larger organization. More importantly, it has given me back time I used to spend working on Saturdays, and that means more time with my family.”

Dr. Clark Cranfill, Owner of Cranfill Dental

“Archy replaces what has historically been an ecosystem of largely on-premise systems and stitched-together point solutions with one modern platform. Dental practices that switch to Archy don’t just adopt new software, they add a new teammate that helps perform the tedious tasks that dentists and their staff would otherwise have to do manually, so they can spend more time delivering a great experience for patients. We are thrilled to back this team as they continue investing hard in product innovation and providing a best-in-class customer experience.”
