Arcline Investment Management has completed its previously announced take-private acquisition of AstroNova, a provider of mission-critical identification and marking technologies serving the aerospace and defense and labeling and packaging industries.
The transaction gives AstroNova a new private-equity owner as the company looks to expand its specialized aerospace and industrial technology businesses.
Founded in 1969, AstroNova develops technologies that enable customers to capture, analyze, identify, and communicate critical information across aerospace and industrial markets.
The company’s Aerospace segment provides avionics technologies including ruggedized flight-deck printers, network switches, specialized aerospace-grade supplies, and high-performance data acquisition systems. Its products are deployed across commercial, business, and military aircraft and are also used in demanding testing and monitoring applications.
AstroNova’s Product Identification business provides digital printing hardware, software, and consumables used by manufacturers, commercial printers, and brand owners. The technology supports applications such as labels, flexible packaging, corrugated materials, and industrial substrates where traceability, regulatory compliance, durability, and product identification are important.
Arcline said AstroNova’s two primary businesses fit its investment strategy around durable, mission-critical industrial companies. The firm plans to work with AstroNova on both organic investment in existing product lines and potential complementary acquisitions.
The transaction was originally announced on June 17, 2026. AstroNova shareholders approved the acquisition at a special meeting held on August 25, 2026.
Rockefeller Capital Management served as exclusive financial advisor to AstroNova, while Foley Hoag served as legal counsel. Alliance Advisors served as strategic communications advisor.
Mesirow served as exclusive financial advisor to Arcline, and Bass, Berry & Sims served as legal counsel.
Arcline manages more than $30 billion in assets and focuses on building mission-critical industrial platforms that it believes can compound earnings over extended periods.
