Ardian Semiconductor has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a 90% stake in Centrotherm International AG from Solarpark Blautal GmbH. Solarpark Blautal will reinvest a portion of its proceeds and remain an essential shareholder following the transaction. Centrotherm, headquartered in Blaubeuren, Germany, develops and manufactures high-temperature thermal processing equipment, establishing a longstanding global presence in the semiconductor and photovoltaic markets. The Hartung family, which founded Centrotherm in 1948, remains involved in the ownership structure through reinvestment.
The acquisition represents the third planned investment by Ardian Semiconductor, following prior transactions involving IBS in October 2024 and Synergie Cad in December 2024. Ardian Semiconductor operates as a dedicated private equity platform for the semiconductor industry, formed through a strategic partnership with Silian Partners. The platform focuses on investing in and scaling European technology companies for global market leadership.
Ardian Semiconductor intends to support Centrotherm in strengthening its position in the semiconductor equipment sector by expanding its product portfolio, enhancing its innovation capabilities, and deepening relationships with global customers. The platform aims to bring strategic resources, operational development, and industry connectivity to accelerate the company’s next phase of growth.
Completion of the transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals. After closing, the parties intend to proceed with the termination of Centrotherm’s listing on the open market.
