Ares Management announced the appointment of E.G. Morse as Partner and Head of Asia Credit, alongside the promotion of Dinesh Goel and Gabriel Fong as Co-Heads of its Asia Special Situations strategy.
Morse joins Ares from Goldman Sachs, where he most recently served as Co-Head of China and Head of China Global Markets. Based in Hong Kong, he will be responsible for driving the growth of Ares’ Asia Credit platform and expanding relationships across the region.
The leadership changes follow the planned retirement of Edwin Wong, who will step down as Head of Asia Credit effective June 30, 2026, after a long tenure leading the business.
Goel and Fong will jointly lead the Asia Special Situations strategy, working closely with Ares’ broader credit leadership team to expand the platform across the Asia-Pacific region. The firm’s Asia Credit business manages approximately $11.5 billion in assets across strategies including special situations, direct lending, and asset-backed finance.
The appointments reflect Ares’ continued focus on expanding its presence in Asia and scaling its credit and special situations capabilities to meet growing investor demand in the region.
