Ares Management Corporation, a leading global alternative investment manager with nearly $623 billion in assets under management, has appointed Peter Ogilvie as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Strategy. In the role, Ogilvie will support the leadership team in executing the firm’s strategic growth initiatives while scaling key global operating capabilities.
Ogilvie has been with Ares since 2007, joining the firm on the direct lending team before taking on broader strategic responsibilities. He most recently served as a Partner and Head of the Ares Corporate Strategy Group, where he played a central role in shaping the firm’s long-term strategic direction. He has been instrumental in the firm’s acquisitions of Allied Capital, American Capital, Black Creek Group, Landmark Partners, and GCP International, among others. He is a member of the Ares Operating Committee and serves on the Board of Directors of Vinci Compass.
Prior to joining Ares, Ogilvie worked in the Leveraged Finance and Restructuring Group at Credit Suisse. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University.
