Armada announced a $230 million oversubscribed Series B round at a $2 billion pre-money valuation to accelerate deployment of modular AI infrastructure and expand domestic manufacturing capacity for sovereign AI systems. The funding round was co-led by BlackRock, Overmatch, and 8090 Industries, and included participation from strategic investors including Johnson Controls, NightDragon, Mitsui, and Singtel Innov8.
The company also unveiled a Global Framework Agreement with Johnson Controls for modular data center systems and announced plans for Galleon Forge One, a dedicated manufacturing facility in Arizona expected to span up to 400,000 square feet and create more than 500 jobs. Continuous production at the facility is expected to begin this summer, initially focused on Armada’s Leviathan modular data centers designed for high-density AI training and inference workloads.
Armada said the funding will support customer growth and expansion of its modular AI infrastructure platform, which enables AI-powered operations in remote and sovereign environments. The company noted that from FY25 to FY26 it achieved 540% customer bookings growth, while Q1 FY27 bookings increased 2000% year-over-year.
The company highlighted several deployments demonstrating accelerating demand for edge AI infrastructure. Armada supported a defense organization in deploying a Triton system into the field within six days, while Australian company WinDC selected Armada for a renewable-energy-powered portable AI factory initiative expected to scale to a 10MW-plus Leviathan deployment.
Armada also worked with the United States Navy to deploy edge computing capabilities during a multinational maritime exercise. In another deployment, Aker BP is testing Armada’s Galleon modular data center on the Deepsea Nordkapp offshore drilling rig to support autonomous operations and AI-enabled workflows.
The company said it continues expanding partnerships with companies, including Microsoft, NVIDIA, Palantir Technologies, and Dell Technologies, to accelerate the deployment of sovereign AI infrastructure and edge computing systems globally.
KEY QUOTES:
“The AI race will not be won by one-off projects. It will be won by the companies and countries that can manufacture, deploy, and continuously improve AI infrastructure, with speed, scale and sovereignty. At Galleon Forge One, we will do what America does best: build the industrial base to win.”
Dan Wright, Co-Founder and CEO, Armada
“Johnson Controls is working with Armada to rapidly deliver secure modular data centers at scale. Together, we have already deployed units across the United States and around the world, demonstrating the expertise and global reach required to support mission-critical environments. Johnson Controls’ differentiated technology, U.S.-based manufacturing strength and Armada’s edge computing expertise will deliver the thermal-critical environments that perform predictably, deploy quickly, and scale with confidence.”
Joakim Weidemanis, Chief Executive Officer, Johnson Controls
“At Aker BP, we are transforming how hydrocarbons are produced in the most challenging environments, and we know we cannot do it alone. Our vision is real-time data processing, AI-ready workflows, and autonomous operations at the edge. Partnering with Armada gives us the infrastructure to make that vision a reality and scale across our fleet.”
Mads Rødsjø, VP, D&W Operations, Aker BP
