Armko Becomes Align Capital Partners’ New AEC Platform After Acquisition

By Amit Chowdhry ● Jan 6, 2026

Align Capital Partners (ACP) has acquired Armko Industries, a Dallas-Fort Worth-based engineering consulting firm specializing in building envelope, roofing, and waterproofing consulting, and will build the business as its newest platform investment in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sector.

Founded in 1983, Armko supports building owners, design professionals and facility management teams with evaluation, design and specification work tied to long-term repair, re-roofing, new roof and waterproofing projects. The firm has completed more than 7,000 engagements focused on roof and building envelope solutions, serving a client base that includes K-12 school districts, higher education institutions, municipalities, healthcare systems and commercial customers across the U.S. Southwest.

As part of the transaction, Armko Founder Rodney Ruebsahm will retire, while industry executive Josh Brown will lead the company going forward. ACP positioned the investment as a growth platform with opportunities to expand service offerings and enter additional markets across the South, supported by a strategy that includes add-on acquisitions.

ACP said the Armko deal represents its second platform investment in the AEC industry. The firm noted it has spent significant time mapping the building envelope consulting market and sees opportunities to build on Armko’s reputation with institutional customers, particularly through recurring consulting engagements that support clients’ retrofit programs and new roofing needs.

ACP Partner Jack Parks led the investment, with Rob Langley, Stuart Schardin, Matt Bowen and Ben Bryles also working on the transaction.

Support: ACP was advised by Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP, with market support provided by FMI Consulting. Armko was advised by Metronome Partners and Haynes Boone. Financial terms were not disclosed.
