Array Labs has raised $21 million in an oversubscribed strategic financing round anchored by Mitsubishi Electric. Existing investors Catapult Ventures, Kompas VC and Y Combinator also participated. The financing follows Array Labs’ Series A round, which was announced in January 2026. The company did not disclose its total funding following the latest investment.
Array Labs and Mitsubishi Electric have also formed a partnership to develop satellite-based maritime and aircraft tracking services for defense and security customers across the Asia-Pacific region.
Array is developing a coordinated constellation of radar satellites intended to provide frequently updated, high-resolution information about terrain, infrastructure and activity. Radar systems can operate at night and collect information through many cloud conditions, giving them advantages over optical imaging in some surveillance and mapping applications.
The partnership will focus on airborne moving target indication technology, commonly abbreviated as AMTI, and related capabilities for identifying and tracking moving aircraft. The companies also plan to address maritime use cases involving vessels and activity across large ocean regions.
Mitsubishi Electric will contribute satellite development, manufacturing infrastructure and established relationships with defense and government organizations. The company has supplied electronics, radar and satellite systems to Japan’s Ministry of Defense for more than 50 years and received a contract in February 2026 to develop the country’s next-generation defense satellite system.
Array Labs will contribute its formation-flying and multistatic radar technology. Multistatic systems use multiple coordinated transmitters or receivers, potentially enabling different viewing angles and more detailed observations than a single isolated radar satellite.
The company has validated its core formation-flying and multistatic technologies and has received research and development contracts from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force.
