Arrive Completes Acquisition Of Passport To Build City OS For Autonomous Mobility

Arrive completed its acquisition of Passport, combining the companies’ mobility and curbside management technologies to create a broader digital platform for cities preparing for autonomous transportation.

The transaction brings Passport’s parking compliance and payment capabilities into Arrive’s global mobility platform, creating an integrated system designed to support payments, parking enforcement, curb management, data insights, and future autonomous vehicle infrastructure.

Passport’s technology is used by more than 800 cities and parking operators across North America.

Arrive said the combination will help cities gain more automated and real-time control over curbside activity as autonomous vehicle deployments expand and place new demands on urban transportation infrastructure.

The company is positioning the combined platform as a City OS capable of helping municipalities manage curb space, parking activity, payment systems, and mobility data through a unified digital ecosystem.

The acquisition is supported by Arrive investors Vitruvian Partners, Verdane, and Searchlight Capital Partners.

Arrive’s broader strategy focuses on digitizing the urban mobility ecosystem and making movement within cities easier for drivers, transportation providers, municipalities, and other participants.

By integrating Passport’s compliance and payment network with Arrive’s existing platform, the company plans to provide cities with a more comprehensive system for managing increasingly complex curbside environments.

The companies see curb management becoming particularly important as autonomous vehicles become more common. Driverless vehicles will require cities to coordinate pickup and drop-off zones, parking access, payments, compliance, and other curbside activity in real time.

The combined technology platform is intended to give cities the infrastructure needed to manage those interactions while generating data that can improve transportation planning and operational decision-making.

Passport will also give Arrive a larger presence across the North American municipal mobility market through its existing relationships with cities and parking operators.

Arrive and Passport said their existing products and services will continue operating normally following the closing, with both teams focused on maintaining uninterrupted service for customers and partners.

The companies will begin integrating their organizations over time, and Arrive said additional updates regarding the combined organizational structure will be announced in the coming months.

Passport employees will join Arrive, adding expertise in parking compliance, payments, municipal technology, and curbside management to the broader organization.

The acquisition expands Arrive’s ability to provide infrastructure for traditional mobility services while also preparing cities for a future in which autonomous vehicles interact directly with digitally managed urban environments.
