Arsenal Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on industrial growth and healthcare companies, announced it has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Velcro Companies from the Cripps Foundation. Following the completion of the transaction, Arsenal will become the majority owner of Velcro, while the Cripps Foundation will retain a significant minority stake. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending customary regulatory approvals.

Founded in 1952, Velcro Companies is known for its specialty hook-and-loop fastening technologies and ownership of the globally recognized VELCRO® brand. The company has expanded from the inventor of hook-and-loop technology into a worldwide provider of fastening solutions serving industries including medical, data centers, personal care, consumer products, industrial manufacturing, transportation, defense, and apparel. Velcro currently employs approximately 2,400 people globally.

Arsenal said the acquisition aligns with its strategy of investing in specialty materials and industrial technology businesses with strong market positions and long-term growth opportunities. The firm plans to support Velcro through continued investments in innovation and product development.

Support: Piper Sandler served as financial advisor to Arsenal Capital Partners, while Kirkland & Ellis LLP acted as legal counsel. Greenhill, a Mizuho affiliate, advised Velcro Companies financially, and Mayer Brown served as legal counsel to the company.
