Arteris Completes Cycuity Acquisition To Add Silicon Hardware Security Assurance

Arteris announced it has closed its previously announced acquisition of Cycuity, adding semiconductor cybersecurity assurance technology as chipmakers face a growing threat landscape that increasingly extends into the hardware layer.

Arteris, which provides network-on-chip (NoC) interconnect IP and system-on-chip (SoC) integration software, said the deal expands its product scope to include hardware security assurance capabilities to identify and mitigate silicon-level vulnerabilities without undermining SoC functionality, performance, or development schedules.

The company framed semiconductor security as an escalating priority as AI workloads, chiplet-based architectures, and a broader range of connected edge devices expand the volume and sensitivity of data moving through chips. Arteris cited U.S. government tracking that reported new Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) in hardware have increased more than 15-fold over the past five years, underscoring heightened focus on the hardware attack surface.

With Cycuity’s technology and expertise, Arteris said it intends to offer a more comprehensive portfolio spanning data-movement IP and tools as well as security assurance. The combined offering is designed to help customers build secure on-chip data movement while maintaining engineering productivity and reducing design risk.

Arteris positions its platform around accelerating the development of high-performance, power-efficient silicon with built-in safety, reliability, and security, serving leading technology companies developing advanced chips for AI data centers and other applications.
