Arycs Technologies announced its formation as an independent U.S.-based company focused on delivering power-efficient coherent optical connectivity designed to support the growing infrastructure demands of artificial intelligence. The company launched with $24 million in additional funding and has established its headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The newly independent company aims to address a growing bottleneck in AI infrastructure: network connectivity. As AI workloads increasingly expand beyond centralized data centers into campus, metro, regional, and edge environments, network performance, scalability, and power efficiency have become critical constraints.
Arycs is focused on developing coherent optical networking solutions designed specifically for distributed AI deployments. Built on expertise in digital signal processing and optical integration, the company’s platform aims to deliver high bandwidth per watt, deterministic performance, and scalable architectures that allow infrastructure operators to expand network capacity without requiring disruptive redesigns.
The company said its technology is intended to support the evolution of AI infrastructure as compute resources become more geographically distributed. Coherent optical connectivity, traditionally used in long-haul telecom networks, is increasingly being adapted for use within and between data centers to handle the rapidly increasing data movement associated with AI workloads.
Arycs plans to scale its coherent connectivity platform to support high-performance AI networking across a wide range of environments, including data center campuses, metropolitan networks, regional infrastructure, and edge deployments. The goal is to help operators handle accelerating data growth while maintaining energy efficiency and operational performance.
The company is operating on a fully fabless model and relies on strategic supply chain partnerships to manufacture its technology. Arycs said this approach allows it to deliver scalable and cost-effective optical solutions that meet the bandwidth and power efficiency requirements of modern AI infrastructure.
Arycs Technologies traces its roots to EFFECT Photonics, which previously renamed its U.S. subsidiary to Arycs Technologies as part of a strategic move toward greater market focus on coherent optical systems for data center and edge networks.
