The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence announced the acquisition of WrenchWay. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. WrenchWay’s co-founders and employees will join the ASE team. The acquisition expands ASE’s role as a workforce platform for the transportation industry.

WrenchWay is a platform built to promote and improve careers in the automotive, diesel, and collision industries. The company connects shops, schools, and industry partners to strengthen the technician pipeline.

ASE said WrenchWay’s expertise will help it strengthen connections between schools, employers, and industry partners.

The acquisition also supports ASE’s efforts to expand support for current and future service professionals. Earlier this year, ASE and WrenchWay launched ASE Connects.

The platform is designed to help build a stronger technician pipeline by connecting schools and industry, expanding access to workforce data, and supporting automotive, diesel, and collision career pathways.

As the organizations integrate, ASE Connects will remain a major focus.

WrenchWay’s technology and expertise are also expected to support additional areas across ASE’s growing portfolio.

ASE said the acquisition reflects its continued commitment to technology and a customer-first approach.

ASE and WrenchWay plan to share additional details in the coming weeks about integration timelines and what the transition means for current users.

Established in 1972, ASE is a nonprofit organization that supports the transportation industry through assessment, certification, and credentialing of current and future service professionals.

ASE Certified professionals work across dealerships, independent shops, collision repair shops, auto parts stores, fleets, schools, and colleges.
