Advanced Sterilization Products announced that it has acquired a majority stake in UV Smart, a European company specializing in High Level Disinfection technology.
ASP is part of the Infection Prevention group of companies within Fortive. The acquisition expands ASP’s clinical solutions portfolio and strengthens its ability to offer infection prevention technologies across Europe and North America.
UV Smart is known for its UV-C High Level Disinfection technology, which is designed to support faster, safer, and lower-cost disinfection workflows for specialty scopes.
The company’s flagship product, the D60, uses UV-C light to achieve high-level disinfection in minutes. ASP said the product can help healthcare providers improve efficiency and workflow, particularly compared to cleaning and disinfection processes for TEE probes that can often take hours.
UV Smart is a Dutch medtech company that develops UV-C products for healthcare environments. Its portfolio is focused on disinfection for cardiology, gynecology, TEE, and ENT equipment.
The company supplies hospitals and clinics in 35 countries. UV Smart’s products are designed to help healthcare facilities reduce reprocessing time, streamline daily operations, lower costs, improve traceability, and fight healthcare-associated infections.
ASP said the acquisition will help accelerate global adoption of UV Smart’s products while supporting the company’s broader infection prevention strategy.
