ASSA ABLOY Acquires International Door Products To Expand U.S. Steel Frame Portfolio

ASSA ABLOY announced the acquisition of International Door Products, a Michigan-based manufacturer of standard and custom fire-rated steel door frames, strengthening its presence in the United States and broadening its capabilities across door-opening solutions.

The acquisition enhances the Opening Solutions Americas division by adding a portfolio of fire-rated steel frames known for rapid lead times and high-quality manufacturing. International Door Products, founded in 1977, employs approximately eighty people and operates its principal office and factory in Southfield, Michigan.

ASSA ABLOY reported that International Door Products generated $29 million in sales in 2024, equivalent to roughly $300 million in Swedish kronor. The company stated that the transaction will be accretive to earnings per share beginning immediately.

The deal aligns with ASSA ABLOY’s strategy of expanding its leadership in mature markets through acquisitions that complement its core offerings in access solutions.
