AstraZeneca has appointed Wan Ling Martello as a Non-Executive Director, effective September 1, 2026, adding an executive with extensive global finance, consumer, technology and digital transformation experience to its board.
Martello will also become a member of AstraZeneca’s Audit Committee upon joining the board.
She is a founding partner of BayPine, a Boston-based private equity firm, and currently serves as an independent director of Alibaba Group and a director of The Lovesac Company.
Martello has spent much of her career in senior leadership roles across consumer products, retail and technology-enabled businesses, including positions at Nestlé, Walmart, NCH Marketing Services, Borden Foods and Kraft Foods.
Among her most significant roles, Martello served as Global Chief Financial Officer of Nestlé, where she revamped the company’s global finance organization, established a data-driven resource allocation and portfolio management framework and led numerous M&A transactions.
She later became CEO of Nestlé’s Asia, Oceania and Sub-Saharan Africa business, where she focused on accelerating growth and using digital transformation initiatives to increase consumer engagement.
Martello also previously served on the boards of Uber Technologies from 2017 to 2025 and Stellantis from 2021 to 2025.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Philippines and an MBA-MIS from the University of Minnesota.
