Asurion has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Domestic & General, aiming to build one of the world’s largest end-to-end providers of technology and appliance protection. The deal strengthens Asurion’s push to become the “CTO of the home” by unifying care for connected devices and household appliances under a single global platform.
The acquisition brings Domestic & General’s century-long appliance-care legacy and 6.8 million subscription customers into Asurion’s ecosystem. The combined entity will support more than 22 million appliances and extend its reach across the UK, Europe and the U.S., creating a broader channel footprint with major carriers, OEMs and retailers.
Domestic & General will continue operating under its brand as a business unit of Asurion. The transaction is expected to close in mid-2026 following regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The announcement accelerates Asurion’s expansion into the $154 billion connected-home devices market, adding predictive diagnostics, AI-driven service, intelligent logistics and a global repair infrastructure to D&G’s network of more than 25,000 independent engineers. The combined company aims to offer faster service resolution, deeper omnichannel capabilities and a more seamless customer experience.
