Atlas Atomics Raises About $400 Million Series A At $1.9 Billion Valuation

Atlas Atomics raised approximately $400 million in a Series A financing at a valuation of around $1.9 billion, according to Bloomberg. General Catalyst is leading the financing, while Andreessen Horowitz is participating in the round, according to people familiar with the private transaction.

The financing provides Atlas Atomics with substantial new capital as the nuclear technology company continues operating largely in stealth mode. The reported valuation also places the business among the more highly valued privately held nuclear startups at an early stage of development.

Atlas Atomics was co-founded and backed by Vivek Ramaswamy. Co-founder Kevin Gan leads the company.

Gan previously spent more than 15 years investing in the energy sector, according to Bloomberg’s report, giving the company leadership with a background in evaluating large-scale energy opportunities.

Few details have been publicly disclosed about Atlas Atomics’ technology, commercialization plans, or development timeline, making the financing one of the most significant disclosures to date about the company and its investor base.

The approximately $400 million Series A also represents a major early-stage capital commitment to the nuclear sector.

Investor interest in nuclear technology has been increasing as power demand rises and companies, utilities, and governments look for reliable sources of electricity capable of supporting expanding energy needs.

The reported $1.9 billion valuation indicates that investors are assigning substantial value to Atlas Atomics before the company has broadly detailed its technology or go-to-market strategy.

The financing also gives Atlas Atomics significant resources to continue developing its technology, building its team, and preparing for a broader emergence from stealth.
