atNorth has appointed Fredrik Jansson as Senior Advisor as the Nordic data center company continues expanding its high-density colocation and built-to-suit infrastructure across the region.
Jansson is stepping down from his operational role as Chief Strategy and Marketing & Communications Officer for health reasons but will remain closely involved with atNorth, providing strategic guidance and working with the executive team and board.
During his tenure as an executive, Jansson played a significant role in atNorth’s development, contributing to strategic decision-making as the company expanded its data center platform across the Nordic region.
As Senior Advisor, he will continue contributing his experience and perspective while stepping away from day-to-day executive responsibilities. The company said Jansson will help ensure a smooth transition and remain associated with atNorth over the longer term.
atNorth will also make a donation supporting research into systemic sarcoidosis in recognition of Jansson’s contribution to the company and in support of the cause that has affected him.
The leadership transition comes during a significant expansion period for atNorth.
The company currently operates seven data centers across the Nordics and has four large-scale sites under development in Kouvola, Finland; Ølgod, Denmark; Sollefteå, Sweden; and Haugaland, Norway. It is also developing an additional metro data center in Stockholm.
atNorth specializes in high-density colocation and built-to-suit facilities, positioning its infrastructure for workloads that increasingly require large amounts of computing power, including AI and high-performance computing.
The company’s Nordic strategy emphasizes access to renewable energy, efficient cooling and infrastructure designed for increasingly power-intensive computing environments.
Jansson’s move into an advisory role allows atNorth to retain his institutional knowledge and strategic experience as the business continues developing its expanding portfolio.
