AT&T Chief Financial Officer Pascal Desroches announced that he plans to retire effective December 31, 2026.
Desroches shared the decision after nearly four decades in his career, describing his professional journey as a series of chapters shaped by change, challenge, and the opportunity to help navigate important moments.
In his announcement, Desroches said the relationships he built throughout his career are what he will carry with him most. He highlighted colleagues who challenged his thinking, teams that delivered under pressure, and leaders who placed trust in him.
Desroches also reflected on the importance of discipline, resilience, and making difficult decisions in service of longer-term goals. He said some of the most defining moments of his career came during periods of transformation, when the path forward was not always clear.
His time at AT&T has been one of the most meaningful chapters of his career. Desroches said that when John Stankey asked him to step into the CFO role, AT&T was at an inflection point and the company made tough choices to build a stronger foundation for the future.
Desroches said he has always tried to leave each organization better than he found it. As he prepares to step away, he expressed confidence that AT&T has a clear path to remain a leader in connecting people for the next 150 years.
