Role At The Company

What is Greg Farnum’s role at the company? Farnum said:

“My role at Audacious Inquiry involves leading the Federal and Strategic Advisory Team’s overall strategy and operations. I work closely with our leadership team to guide our business development efforts, manage client relationships, and oversee the delivery of our services. We focus on driving healthcare interoperability through modern standards like FHIR and support public health agencies in modernizing their data infrastructure. A big part of my responsibilities also involves collaborating with industry partners to shape policies and best practices in health IT.”

Core Products

What are the company’s core products and features? Farnum explained:

“The Federal and Strategic Advisory Team specializes in health data interoperability and modernization, providing solutions that enable seamless data exchange across the healthcare ecosystem. Our offerings include cloud-based data management and administrative simplification, designed to alleviate the burden on healthcare organizations. We also help public health agencies modernize their data infrastructures, enhancing their ability to respond to emerging health crises. As AI becomes integral to healthcare, we leverage it to streamline administrative processes, improve data analysis, and enhance patient outcomes. By applying AI thoughtfully, we empower our partners to become more efficient and focused on delivering high-quality care, ensuring that innovation serves the ultimate goal of better healthcare.”

Challenges Faced

What challenges has Farnum and the team faced in building the company? Farnum acknowledged:

“One significant challenge in our sector has been navigating the complexity of healthcare data interoperability, particularly with the variability in implementation guides and the testing required across states and jurisdictions, such as the 64 jurisdictions we worked with on the CDC Immunization Gateway project. The different interpretations of standards across states create significant hurdles when building a cohesive national system. Additionally, many organizations rely on legacy systems, further complicating the transition to modern standards like FHIR.

“Recognizing the need to achieve a common standard, we’re developing a product to streamline this transition and reduce variability. The challenge of testing across diverse jurisdictions is substantial, but we envision a more efficient process where testing is streamlined and harmonized, enabling systems to align more quickly. As part of our work on the IZ Gateway, we are helping improve the coordination of immunization data across states, reinforcing the importance of a unified approach. We’ve focused on offering incremental solutions to address these challenges, starting small, testing thoroughly, and scaling as partners gain confidence. Our team’s deep understanding of healthcare IT policy and the technical aspects of the industry allows us to provide tailored solutions that balance innovation with practical implementation, ensuring a smoother transition for all stakeholders involved.”

Significant Milestones

What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Farnum cited:

“One of our most significant milestones was playing a central role in developing and implementing the CDC’s Immunization Gateway, which helps streamline the exchange of immunization records across systems and jurisdictions. We’ve also succeeded in several key federal projects where we’ve helped drive public health data modernization initiatives. More recently, our work on advancing AI-driven administrative simplification for healthcare organizations has positioned us as leaders.”

Differentiation From The Competition

What differentiates the company from its competition? Farnum concluded:

“Audacious Inquiry’s exceptional team and hands-on, results-driven approach truly sets Audacious Inquiry apart. Our team understands health IT standards and policy and rolls up its sleeves to complete the work with active engagement at every stage. We’re not just about developing technology solutions; we’re committed to shaping policy and driving lasting collaborations across government, healthcare organizations, and communities.
