Augur, a London-based technology company building AI-powered perception systems for public safety and critical infrastructure protection, announced it has raised $15 million in seed funding.
The round was led by Plural, with participation from 1st Kind, FlixFounders, Foxglove Capital, SNR and Tiny Supercomputer Investment Company.
Augur is focused on helping governments, infrastructure operators and organizations responsible for public safety better detect and respond to threats in real time. The company’s technology integrates existing cameras and sensors to generate intelligence that can identify potential threats, support rapid response and accelerate post-event investigations.
By connecting existing sensor infrastructure into a unified perception engine, the platform aims to improve situational awareness across complex environments such as transportation networks, public venues and other critical infrastructure locations. The system analyzes patterns and behaviors captured by sensors to surface signals that may indicate emerging risks.
The company says its approach emphasizes privacy by design, enabling organizations to gain operational insights without compromising civil liberties. Augur’s team brings nearly two decades of experience supporting national security and public safety efforts in the United Kingdom and internationally.
The newly raised capital will be used to accelerate product development and expand the company’s ability to support organizations responsible for safeguarding public spaces and infrastructure.
KEY QUOTES
“It’s not just detecting that something’s going on, it’s inferring behaviour. This is how we can start to really innovate in areas such as hostile reconnaissance and actually draw much more signal out of these devices, versus noise which tends to be the issue at the moment.”
Harry Mead, Co-Founder And CEO Of Augur
