AURA AERO announced that it has acquired VoltAero, combining two companies focused on low-carbon aviation technologies.
The acquisition brings together AURA AERO’s industrial ambitions and international reach with VoltAero’s expertise in hybrid-electric propulsion systems.
AURA AERO said the transaction immediately strengthens its capabilities through the integration of 2,400 square meters of industrial facilities and proven hybrid-electric technologies.
The company said VoltAero brings experience across hybrid-electric architectures and experimental aeronautical development.
VoltAero’s expertise includes design, system integration, testing, flight operations, and data analysis.
The acquisition also gives AURA AERO access to technology and experience developed through VoltAero’s Cassio S hybrid-electric flying demonstrator.
Since the start of flight testing in 2019, Cassio S has completed 270 flights and covered about 25,000 kilometers under a range of operating conditions.
AURA AERO said the demonstrator provides tangible proof of technological maturity and will serve as a direct catalyst for its electric and hybrid-electric development programs.
The company said the combined effort will strengthen the French low-carbon aviation industry and accelerate the development of market-ready solutions.
AURA AERO said the deal also reinforces its ambition to help make France a global leader in sustainable aviation.
