Aurelius Systems has raised $40 million in Series A funding to advance its Archimedes autonomous counter-drone platform and expand manufacturing operations. Draper Associates and KAS Venture Partners co-led the round. Other participants included General Catalyst, Hanwha Asset Management Venture Fund, Outlander, Alumni Ventures, Bravo Victor Venture Capital, Detroit Venture Partners and Decisive Point.
Aurelius will use the capital to continue technical development of Archimedes, increase production capacity and improve manufacturing readiness.
The funding will also support greater vertical integration to reduce supply-chain risk, improve the availability of critical components and strengthen long-term manufacturing resilience.
Aurelius plans to broaden its platform offerings, enter additional markets and accelerate deliveries to customers.
Archimedes is an autonomous directed-energy system designed to defend against increasingly coordinated drone threats.
The company is developing the platform around the speed, volume and cost requirements associated with modern unmanned aircraft systems.
Recent milestones include an integration partnership with American Rheinmetall, interoperability testing involving command-and-control systems at Operation Jailbreak and platform validation during Technology Readiness Experimentation 26-2.
Aurelius currently employs 19 people and expects to expand its workforce to more than 40 by the end of 2026.
