Aurex, a Godspeed Capital-backed provider of engineering and technology services across space, hypersonics, missile defense, and orbital systems, said it has acquired Alpha 2 Inc., a Chantilly, Virginia-based firm focused on cryptographic engineering, cybersecurity, and engineering services for U.S. space, defense, and intelligence customers.

The deal adds encryption engineering and secure communications capabilities to Aurex’s platform as the company positions itself to support increasingly contested national security environments and growing demand for protected communications across sensitive government missions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2013, Alpha 2 provides cryptographic engineering and cybersecurity services tied to national security space systems, including work involving space systems encryption engineering and secure communications. Aurex said the acquisition broadens its customer base within classified programs and strengthens its ability to deliver mission-critical services supporting space and missile defense priorities.

Aurex said the combination deepens its platform across secure communications, prototyping, and cybersecurity, complementing its existing work in launch engineering, counter-hypersonic missile defense, mission-critical space communications, modeling and simulation, and precision machining.

Godspeed Capital said Alpha 2’s expertise aligns with Aurex’s focus on solving high-priority challenges for government space and national security customers, and that it plans to continue investing across the platform to support growth.
