Aurora Capital Partners Acquires Softdocs

Aurora Capital Partners has acquired Softdocs, a provider of cloud-based process automation and document management software for education and government institutions. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Softdocs provides enterprise content management and workflow automation software purpose-built for higher education, K-12 schools and government organizations.

Its platform helps institutions securely manage documents, automate administrative workflows and modernize operational processes.

The software is designed to reduce manual work while helping institutions navigate fragmented technology environments and evolving security, compliance and accessibility requirements.

Softdocs’ products are used by more than 1,000 organizations worldwide.

Aurora plans to work with Softdocs’ management team to accelerate product development, add capabilities and expand the company’s market reach.

The acquisition gives Aurora exposure to increasing demand among education and government institutions for modernization of document-heavy administrative processes.

Los Angeles-based Aurora manages approximately $6 billion in assets and focuses on middle-market companies with established market positions and opportunities for further growth.

Baird and Raymond James served as financial advisers to Softdocs, while Alston & Bird provided legal counsel.

Macquarie Capital served as financial adviser to Aurora, with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher providing legal counsel.
