Australian Financial Planning Group Receives Minority Investment From Kudu

Australian Financial Planning Group announced that it has secured a minority investment from Kudu Investment Management. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

AFPG is an independent wealth management firm serving clients across Australia. The Sydney-based firm was founded in 2001 and has a team of 30 advisers.

The company manages more than A$3 billion and provides financial planning, lending, and accounting services.

AFPG plans to use the proceeds from the transaction to support continued growth. This includes expanding its advisor base and pursuing strategic acquisitions while maintaining its independent ownership structure.

The firm will continue to be led by founder Matt Carter and its existing management team. AFPG said there will be no changes to day-to-day operations.

Kudu Investment Management provides permanent capital solutions to independent asset and wealth managers globally. Since its founding in 2015, Kudu has invested in 34 asset and wealth managers across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Europe, and Australia.

Kudu’s partner firms collectively invest approximately US$154 billion on behalf of individual and institutional investors worldwide as of March 31, 2026.

Johnson Winter Slattery served as legal counsel and PwC served as financial advisor to AFPG. MinterEllison served as legal counsel to Kudu.
