AutoManager Buys Macrosmith To Add Dealership Document Management And Compliance Tools

By Amit Chowdhry • Jan 29, 2026

AutoManager, a dealer software provider backed by private equity firm The Beekman Group, has acquired Macrosmith, a document management software company built for automotive retailers. Terms were not disclosed.

The deal expands AutoManager’s footprint beyond core dealer management software by adding tools designed to digitize, organize, and retrieve key dealership records that are often central to audits and regulatory or OEM requirements. AutoManager said the acquisition supports its strategy of building a more integrated platform aimed at improving dealership efficiency, profitability, and compliance.

Macrosmith, founded in 2007 and based in State College, Pennsylvania, offers software that helps dealerships securely handle documents such as deal jackets, repair orders, invoices, and compliance records. Its flagship products, MacroFile and MacroScan, are designed to integrate with dealer management systems and other third party platforms, consolidating paperwork into a searchable digital deal file. AutoManager positioned the functionality as a way to reduce manual processes and improve audit readiness for both franchised and independent dealers.

Following the acquisition, Macrosmith will operate within the AutoManager organization, with continued support for existing customers and added investment in product development. AutoManager said it expects deeper integration between Macrosmith’s document tools and AutoManager’s broader suite, with an emphasis on a more unified dealership workflow across systems.

The transaction also adds to AutoManager’s recent acquisition activity. The company cited prior deals for AutoAp, Selly Automotive, and EverLogic as part of an ongoing push to broaden its product set across independent dealerships, related automotive segments, and the RV market.

AutoManager’s portfolio includes its DeskManager dealer management platform, WebManager website and digital marketing tools, Selly Automotive CRM and lead management for independent and buy-here-pay-here dealers, AutoAp recall management technologies and services, and EverLogic RV dealership management software that integrates with QuickBooks and supports mobile access. The company said it serves thousands of users across the U.S. and Canada.

Beekman Group, based in New York City, focuses on building companies in healthcare, consumer, and business services and said it manages more than $1 billion in assets and has completed more than 200 transactions since inception.
