AutoNation announced that it has acquired three premium luxury dealerships in the San Francisco Bay Area. The acquired stores are Audi Fremont, Mercedes-Benz of Fremont, and Porsche Fremont. The acquisition became effective on June 22, 2026.

Together, the three stores represent about $400 million in annual revenue and approximately 4,800 retail new and used vehicle sales per year.

AutoNation said the deal expands its footprint in California, which is the largest auto retail market in the U.S.

Following the acquisition, AutoNation has 46 locations in California. This includes 21 Premium Luxury stores, 7 Domestic stores, 16 Import stores, a collision center, and an auction center.

Nationwide, AutoNation now operates 25 Mercedes-Benz stores, 11 Audi stores, and 8 Porsche stores.

The company said the acquisition supports its strategy of expanding scale in attractive markets while focusing on high-quality assets.

AutoNation also said that over the past 12 months, including acquisitions in the Baltimore, Chicago, and Atlanta areas, it has added about $1 billion in annual revenue.

The company remains focused on disciplined capital allocation, balancing strategic acquisitions with share repurchases.

AutoNation has invested about $450 million year-to-date to repurchase more than 2.2 million shares, reducing shares outstanding by more than 6%.
