Auxilium Health: Pre-Seed Funding And Grant Raised For Biomaterials That Accelerate Skin Tissue Regeneration

By Amit Chowdhry • Apr 12, 2025

Auxilium Health announced the closing of an oversubscribed $1.5 million, pre-seed funding round, exceeding its $1.2 million target, led by regional investors and leaders committed to driving innovation, economic growth, and the healthcare ecosystem across Ohio. And the Auxilium team also received a $275,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), underscoring strong national validation of their biomaterial technology.

What Auxilium Health does: Launched in 2022, Auxilium Health is pioneering a new class of advanced biomaterials designed for accelerating skin tissue regeneration and improve infection management. With 6.5+ million people in the U.S. affected by non-healing wounds, Auxilium’s innovative technology directly addresses this critical and growing medical need.

Created from groundbreaking polymer research led by Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Aparna Agrawal, at the University of Akron, the biomaterial platform has already attracted national and international interest from the healthcare and biotechnology sectors. And this early traction reflects a growing belief in the technology’s potential, positioning the company to rapidly advance partnerships and product development, which will translate into clinical impact.
