Avant has secured a $300 million asset-based financing facility led by Aperture Investors. The facility will provide flexible capital to support the growth of Avant’s consumer credit platform, particularly its credit card portfolio. The transaction expands an existing relationship between Avant and Aperture’s Asset-Based Finance team.
Asset-based financing is secured by a pool of underlying financial assets, such as consumer credit card receivables or personal loans.
The structure can give a financial technology company additional funding to originate credit while providing investors with contractual exposure to the cash flows generated by those assets.
Aperture launched its Asset-Based Finance strategy in 2025 to provide customized capital to consumer and commercial finance platforms.
The strategy is led by Nick Turgeon, Aperture’s Global Head of Asset-Based Finance and a portfolio manager at the firm.
Avant was founded in 2012 and provides credit cards, personal loans and financial management tools to middle-income U.S. consumers.
The company has served more than 4.5 million customers and has connected them with over $16.8 billion in credit through personal loans and credit cards.
Aperture managed approximately $6.72 billion as of June 30, 2026.
