Aveanna Healthcare Holdings announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Family First Homecare for approximately $175.5 million, expanding the company’s specialized pediatric home healthcare footprint across multiple U.S. states.

The Atlanta-based home care platform said the acquisition will strengthen its ability to provide care to medically complex, high-cost patient populations while expanding its geographic presence in specialized pediatric services. Family First Homecare operates 27 locations across seven states including Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, and North Carolina.

Founded in 2012, Family First Homecare focuses primarily on skilled Private Duty Nursing services for medically fragile children. The company received a strategic minority investment from Trivest Partners in 2021.

Aveanna said the transaction will broaden its specialized care model and enhance its reach in pediatric home healthcare markets, supporting its strategy to deliver home-based care as an alternative to prolonged hospitalization.

The company plans to fund the acquisition through a combination of cash on hand and borrowings from its existing short-term credit facility. The deal is expected to close in the second fiscal quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.

Edge Healthcare Partners served as financial advisor to Aveanna, while Bass, Berry & Sims provided legal counsel. Financial advisors to Family First Homecare included Baird and J.P. Morgan Securities, with legal counsel provided by Greenberg Traurig.
