Axinn: Joseph Micallef Named As Partner In IP Practice In Washington, D.C.

Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider announced that veteran intellectual property trial lawyer Joseph Micallef has joined its Intellectual Property practice as a partner in the Washington, D.C. office.

Micallef joins Axinn from Sidley Austin LLP, where he navigated complex litigation involving artificial intelligence, 3D memory, cellular technology, reconfigurable computing systems, computer microarchitectures, operating systems, search engines, semiconductor fabrication techniques, satellite television, and solar cell design. And his work includes representing clients on intellectual property enforcement and defense strategies, such as investigating potential infringement and asserting IP rights in courts nationwide. Additionally, he defends against others’ assertion of IP rights. He has litigated cases before federal district and appellate courts, federal agencies, and arbitration panels.

Micallef has taught Trade Secret and Patent Law as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center for over 20 years. Before entering private practice, he also clerked for Justice Joseph T. Walsh of the Delaware Supreme Court. Micallef earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The Catholic University of America.
