AXT announced the appointment of Jia-Bin Duh to its Board of Directors, effective July 16, 2026, expanding the board from five to six directors. Duh brings more than 30 years of senior executive and investor experience across the technology and consumer sectors, with deep expertise in Greater China markets.
Duh has held senior leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, and Cisco Systems, including serving as President of Cisco Systems China from 1998 to 2005 and Corporate Vice President of Cisco Systems, as well as President of Microsoft China from 1993 to 1998. He currently serves as Director of Primax Electronics Ltd., a role he has held since 2021, and served as the company’s Chairman and CEO from 2023 to 2024. He previously chaired Mobinnova Corp. from 2006 to 2009 and has served as an independent director of Wangfujing International Group, IDT International Limited, and Huizhou Tymphany Acoustics Technology. Duh holds a bachelor’s degree in Control Engineering from National Chiao Tung University and MBA degrees from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
AXT develops and manufactures compound and single-element semiconductor substrate wafers used in AI and data center connectivity, 5G infrastructure, and other applications, and maintains manufacturing facilities in China alongside partial ownership stakes in more than ten Chinese raw materials suppliers.
