Axxiom Elevator has acquired Carolina Elevator Service, a Columbia, South Carolina-based provider of commercial elevator maintenance, repair, modernization and installation services. The deal expands Axxiom into South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia and represents the company’s 13th acquisition since its founding.
Founded in 2008, Carolina Elevator maintains and services equipment for commercial customers and prominent facilities across the Southeast. The company has developed its business around elevator safety, system reliability and responsive support for building owners and property operators.
Carolina Elevator owners Wayne Brindle, Brent Goings, Cary Goings and Stephanie Hoopaugh will continue leading the operation alongside its existing mechanics and other employees. Maintaining the local leadership team is intended to preserve established customer relationships while giving the business access to Axxiom’s broader systems, resources and operating platform.
Axxiom provides maintenance, repairs, modernization and new elevator installation services. Before the transaction, the company operated across Arizona, California, Florida, Texas and the Washington, D.C. region.
Elevator maintenance businesses generate recurring demand because commercial property owners must keep equipment safe, operational and compliant with applicable inspection requirements. Modernization projects can also become necessary as elevators age and owners replace control systems, machinery, doors and other components.
The transaction was completed with financial backing from Gauge Capital. Maven Group, an advisory firm specializing in the vertical transportation industry, facilitated the acquisition. Financial terms were not disclosed.
