Azumuta, a Ghent-based software scale-up focused on digitalizing frontline manufacturing operations, has secured €8 million in Series A funding to accelerate development of its operator-centric platform. The financing round was led by Keen Venture Partners, with participation from Capricorn Partners and returning investors PMV, Angelwise, and Dirk Vermunicht.
The company plans to use the new capital to expand its team, enter additional international markets, and advance its technology for AI-supported work instructions, quality management, and workforce training. The investment arrives as many manufacturers continue to operate with paper-based processes, siloed spreadsheets, and outdated legacy systems that hinder efficiency and quality management. Azumuta positions its platform as a way to unify work instructions, audits, training, and quality control into one connected environment tailored to operators on the shop floor.
Founded in 2016, the company has grown from a digital work instruction tool into an integrated operating system used by nearly 100 manufacturers worldwide. Users report significant operational improvements, including a 50% reduction in administrative time and a sixty percent decrease in quality complaints. The platform is deployed by manufacturers such as Atlas Copco, Toyota, and Sioux Technologies to keep production processes synchronized across teams and locations.
Azumuta is recognized as one of Belgium’s fastest-growing technology companies and intends to expand its product innovation roadmap, strengthen customer success capabilities, and establish new industry partnerships. The company continues to emphasize digitalizing shop floor knowledge in a way that supports both operational excellence and workforce empowerment.
KEY QUOTES:
“Every week we meet manufacturers still running critical processes on paper. There’s no lack of ambition, just a need for technology built for real production. Azumuta bridges that gap and helps factories digitalize in a way that fits how they operate.”
Batist Leman, CEO of Azumuta
“Operational efficiency is one of our key priorities. As we work toward becoming a factory of the future, digital transformation is essential. That’s where Azumuta plays a crucial role.”
Johan Dom, VP Engineering at Atlas Copco
“Most manufacturing software is built for the C-suite, not the people on the floor. Azumuta starts where the real work happens, building AI-rich software operators actually want to use. That’s why it sticks.”
Robert Verwaayen, General Partner at Keen Venture Partners
