Babst Calland has added Emily K. Pauley and Andrea L. Taylor to its Charleston, West Virginia office, strengthening the law firm’s litigation, land and energy title, and energy and natural resources capabilities. Pauley joins Babst Calland as an associate attorney in the firm’s Litigation practice.
Her work includes representing corporate clients in complex commercial litigation.
Before joining Babst Calland, Pauley served as Assistant Counsel to the West Virginia Intermediate Court of Appeals.
In that role, she reviewed complex appeals involving civil litigation, employment law, administrative law, workers’ compensation law and property law.
Pauley earned her law degree from West Virginia University College of Law in 2022.
Taylor joins Babst Calland as a staff attorney in its Land and Energy Title and Energy and Natural Resources practice groups.
She brings experience advising oil and gas operators, midstream companies and private investors on land, title and acquisition matters throughout the Appalachian Basin.
Taylor’s practice focuses on title examination and curative work, purchase-and-sale due diligence and leasehold acquisition.
She also advises on agreements supporting energy development, including joint operating agreements, mineral leases, pipeline agreements and right-of-way easements.
Taylor has worked in legal, project management and field roles since 2009.
Her experience includes title matters, acquisitions, mineral due diligence, land acquisition, permitting, infrastructure development and regulatory compliance.
Before joining Babst Calland, Taylor served as a title coordinator for Infinity Natural Resources.
She earned her law degree from West Virginia University College of Law in 2007.
