Baird has hired veteran advisor Ken Murray to help build out its private wealth management business in Northern Virginia, adding him as a director and financial advisor in the firm’s Fairfax office.

Murray joins Baird from Edelman Financial Engines, where he managed approximately $320 million in client assets, and brings more than 20 years of industry experience, including prior roles at Bank of America and Morgan Stanley. He will be supported in Fairfax by Associate Financial Advisor Paul Brick and Client Assistant Rebecca Fakhar.

Baird said the Fairfax office—opened in January 2024—has been a key contributor to the firm’s Virginia growth strategy, complementing its other in-state wealth management locations in Alexandria, Lynchburg, and Richmond.

“Ken is an exciting addition to our team,” said Jim McGuire, branch manager. “His deep commitment to the local Virginia community and years of experience will be a great asset to our continued expansion in the region.”

Murray holds the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®) designation. He earned a bachelor’s degree in individualized studies from George Mason University and a master’s degree in exercise and sport sciences from the University of Florida.

Baird said its private wealth management business includes nearly 1,400 financial advisors with an average of 20 years of industry experience and more than $350 billion in client assets as of June 30, 2025. Across the broader firm, Baird reported more than $525 billion in client assets as of the same date.
